Pune : Students will not have to face the screens for oral or practical exams for their semester as the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has instructed all affiliated colleges to conduct these exams after offline classes begin.
The university is looking to begin offline classes by the or second week of January, and has instructed all colleges to conduct the oral and practicals once college resumes.
The exam department of the SPPU issued instructions to all it's affiliated colleges on December 22, that colleges must conduct both the semester practical and oral examination of students offline.
Exam director, Mahesh Kade, said the colleges have not been activities related to practicals deu to the Covid outbreak.
"Students have not been able to use the laboratories or other related workshop or training units that required students to be present will be able to train, use laboratories and give exam once the college resume offline classes", he said
All colleges have been instructed that the practical, orals, semesters, projects, seminars both the semester of 2020-21 academic year should be conducted during the term-end examination which will be held in March/April 2021.
Students should not make any changes in the online form regarding these exams and should fill them as per regular practice for written and oral exams. The instructions will be applicable for fresh admission students, he added.
They will get the results of the exams of the semester held online this year conducted by the university for the 2020 semester while the combined results of both semester after March/April 2021 examination will be declared with the marks of the orals and practicals for both semesters.
Kakade said, "Students without backlog will have to undergo the practical and oral examinations as per the present practices which will be decided and conducted by their respective colleges. Their results will also be declared immediately after the written examination," he said.
